The highly-regarded Great Places To Work website recently published an article about how workplaces can support women in the workplace. The article was timed to come out near International Women’s Day.
The four suggestions addressed mentorship opportunities and targeting diversity. The fourth suggestion listed is straightforward:
Offer more support for caregivers.
The author suggested that various studies indicate that 57% to 81% of all caregivers of the elderly are women. Then, they featured a couple of companies that provide “returnships,” a term that means special support when workers return to work after time off for caregiving.
