In March 2023, Great Places to Work listed its Eight Workplace Wellbeing Trends. These included several benefits favorable to family caregivers:
Flexibility of work schedules, a highly popular policy for working family caregivers made number one on the list of eight. The authors featured companies that were extending flexibility to its hourly employees, not just salaried management.
Number three on the list is Invest in Caregivers. Great Places to Work focused on paid leave and backup care offerings. They noted that companies were expanding these benefits from parents to all caregivers.
Items four and five on the list are Offer Financial Education and Prioritize Mental Health. Both of these wellbeing trends are popular among working family caregivers.
Finally, number six on the list of eight is Create A Sense of Belonging. This wellbeing benefit is perhaps number one on the list for family caregivers, who routinely report feeling alone and isolated as their number one complaint.
