Working Daughter is “a community for women balancing eldercare, career, kids and life.”

Working Daughter was founded in 2015 by Liz O’Donnell. The site features O’Donnell’s book Working Daughter: A Guide to Caring for Your Aging Parents While Earning A Living.

Valuable information offered by the site includes annual lists (beginning in 2022) of the Best Places to Work for Working Daughters, blog posts about family caregiving topics and a page targeting employers.

Services offered include coaching sessions for working caregivers, a Life After Caregiving Workshop and keynote speeches by Liz O’Donnell. Some of these services–and more–can be accessed through annual membership. As of March 2024, membership is listed as $14.99 per month or $150 per year. The Life After Caregiving workshop is $125. See the website for more information. Working Daughter also has a Shopify page specializing in supports and gifts for caregivers.

Here at Support For Caregivers Network, we were pleased to access a report called Working Daughters at Work. The report shares results from a survey of over 700 working caregivers.

One response to “Working Daughter”

  1. I think the key thing about working daughter is that it focuses our attention on the fact that most employee-family caregivers are women. If a company truly wants to offer opportunities for women to work, it should probably consider robust benefits for family caregivers.
